My Story

This Roatan Southside Reef Snorkel, Monkey / Sloth Park, and Beach Excursion is for everyone who loves nature! You will have some time to play with the sloths and monkeys and then you will explore one of the amazing reefs Roatan has to offer. To finish your day you will have some time to relax at the beach.

You will meet your expert guide outside your Roatan cruise terminal where you will board air-conditioned transportation for the short 25-minute ride to the AJ's Monkey's and Sloth's Hangout. What started as a hobby quickly grew to become a haven for injured or abandoned animals including sloths and monkeys. Upon your arrival, you will have 45 minutes to get up close and personal with resident sloths, monkeys, and parrots as they attempt to charm you with their quirky personalities. This will be a great opportunity to capture some rare photos to share with friends and family back home. Many other types of wildlife now call this sanctuary home including raccoons and many native animals that are helping educate people on habitat, care, and conservation.

Next, you will have a short walk to the dock where you will get ready to explore the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean as you board a boat to snorkel at one of the closest reefs to French Cay. French Cay Marine Park, Coco View Reef Wall, Prince Albert Shipwreck, or Big French Cay will be the available options based on the current weather conditions. Your guide will provide instructions for the first-timers and give you your snorkel gear. They will show you how to use it and then assist anyone who needs it. Once in the water, your guide will be pointing out the abundant marine life the reef has; from conch, lobsters, manta rays, and a great variety of tropical fish. Your snorkel time is approximately 1 hour.
